  • Just north of Santa Barbara, California is the wine producing region of Zaca Mesa. Between the vineyards are the occasional horse and cattle ranch. The native landscape of the area is made up of hills and grassy pastures spotted with oak trees. • The Central Coast of California includes many areas that seem wild and unsettled. Some of which are privately owned cattle ranches or vineyards, some of which is public lands in the form of parks and preserves. There are wonderfully interesting and challenging roads in this area as well. This one is G16, running east of from Carmel Valley. In Springtime, the hillsides are verdant green and covered in wildflowers.
